Statement of Faith
1. We believe the Scriptures both Old and New Testaments to be the inspired Word of God without error. It is the complete revelation of God's will for the salvation of men and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life. This Word of God consists of the 66 canonical books.
(2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:21 & 3:16)
2. We believe in one God, Creator of all things, sovereign over all creation, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16,17)
3. We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. He arose from the dead, ascended into Heaven, where at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.
(Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:35; 8:58; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Philippians 2:6,7; Hebrews 7:23-25)
4. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person whose ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men of sin, righteousness and the judgment to come. He indwells the believer, granting gifts to be used for the edification of the saints (these gifts should always be used in an orderly fashion according to the Scriptures (1Corinthians 14:26-33)), and gives instruction for godly living and service.
(John 16:7-14; Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:7-18; Ephesians 4:11)
5. We believe that man was created in the image of God but chose to rebel against Him through sin, and is therefore, totally depraved. Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit by grace through faith in Christ's finished work on the cross and His resurrection from the dead, can salvation and eternal life be obtained. The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation. For those who receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and become children of God.
(Genesis 1:26; John 3:16; Romans 1:28,29; 3:10-20; 10:9,10; Ephesians 2:8; Titus 3:4-7; 1 Peter 1:2; 1 John 3:1)
6. We believe that at the time of conversion each believer is filled with the Holy Spirit, wholly sanctified from sin and the world, to be fully dedicated to the will of God, thereby receiving power for holy living, effective service and the practice of the priesthood. This is both a crisis and progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer subsequent to conversion.
(Acts 2:1-11; Romans 8:1-8; 12:1,2; 1 Peter 2:4-9)
7. We believe that the church consists of all people who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the Head of the body, the church, which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the Gospel to all nations.
(Matthew 28:18-20; John 3:3; Colossians 1:15-23; 1 John 5:13)
8. We believe that water baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances to be observed by the church during this present age. They are not to be regarded as a means of salvation.
(Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 22:14-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
9. We believe in the personal, pre-millennial and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is the believer's blessed hope and is vital truth, which is an incentive for holy living and faithful service.
(Matthew 24:36-51; Revelation 20:1-6)
10. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting, conscious punishment.
(John 5:24-29; 1 Corinthians 15:50-55; Revelation 20:11-15)
